Mika is very easily the costume that took me the longest to make. I initially started making her in December of 2006, working on or Gungrave version (instead of the Gungrave:Overdose version). However, after a failed attempt at making that version in two days before Ohayocon 2007, I gave up for a little while. In summer of 2007, I started working on her again, this time on the Gungrave:Overdose version. After I didn't complete her for Tsubasacon 2007, AnimeUSA 2007, and Ohayocon 2008, I finally finished her for Anime Central 2008 (the week before the con). So, a year and a half after I started making her (ignoring the fact that I switched variations in between), I finally finished! The costume came out really well, too, it's one of the ones I am most proud of. The jacket is 99% accurate, fully lined, and mostly functional. It was definitely worth all the time and effort I put into it!
